Weather Alert: Very Strong Storms Expected in Toronto Today

Toronto and the GTA could be hit by a round of very strong thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, with the most intense weather expected roughly between 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Tornadic activity is also possible, according to CP24 meteorologist Bill Coulter.
Heavy downpours and strong thunderstorms are expected as a cold front moves across southern Ontario.

Before the storms arrive, Toronto could reach 28°C, feeling closer to 36°C with the humidity.

Mayor Olivia Chow says Toronto has activated its Emergency Operations Centre ahead of the expected severe weather, with transportation, TTC, shelter and emergency services coordinating preparations.
